History
Capt. Arsenio Camposagrado migrated to Cauayan, Isabela from his native province of Cavite Being an experienced aviator, he realized the potential of an airline business in the Province of Isabela, thus, after his fruitful stint with the Philippine Airlines and Pan American Airways in the 1950’s, he pioneered flying in Isabela by establishing the Camposagrado Air Taxi in 1960 with Cauayan Airport as its hub of operations. The simple community of Cauayan embraced the newfound convenience of flying and Camposagrado became a household name in the locality. A fast, readily available, yet inexpensive means of transportation was born.
Captain Arsenio Camposagrado’s son, Capt. Honorio Camposagrado followed his flying footsteps and helped the Air Taxi to cope with modern business ways. The father and son team incorporated the company and shaped the Northern Air Services, Inc. (NASI). Investors came in and a pool of people of varying talents and expertise was formed. Differences in finance operation, and marketing strategies among the group of investors, however, resulted to a bitter proxy fight and a group of outsiders managed to wrest control of NASI from its pioneers. Wanting to be served by the original operators, loyal passengers insisted that the Camposagrados form another airline and this incessant request led to the birth of Cyclone Airways, Inc. After gaining enough managerial skills, Capt. Honorio Camposagrado continued this legacy while his father returned to his old love, farming. Under Capt. Honorio Camposagrado’s leadership, Cyclone Airways expanded its operations to cover not only the coastal towns of Isabela but across Northern Luzon, reaching as far as Batanes Islands.
